People can enjoy seasonal tales of magic, mystery and humour at Midsomer Norton Library this month.

It will be hosting a story event on Tuesday, December 10, at 7pm, featuring Colin Emmett, Martin Horler and members of the newly formed Mendip Storytelling Circle.

It is part of Bath and North East Somerset Council's After Hours programme to promote the wider use of libraries.

Councillor David Dixon (Lib Dem, Oldfield), cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: "Everyone knows the best place to read spellbinding stories is in your local library – at Midsomer Norton you'll be able to hear them too."

The event is free but people need to book a place at the library as space is limited. Circle members will be weaving their magic tonight at their regular venue at the Court Hotel from 8pm.

The circle, launched in October, meets on the first Thursday of each month.
