As several members of The New Delta Jazz Band were unavailable for November's Old Down Jazz, a guest band appeared – Tim Newman's Celebration Jazz Band.

Trumpet player and leader Tim has appeared as a guest of The New Delta Jazz Band several times before so he and his band were made very welcome.

However, for December's Old Down Jazz it's almost back to normal, with The New Delta Jazz Band full front line.

Derek Winters on trumpet, vocals and great anecdotes, travels up from Penzance to join Clive Johnstone on clarinet and various saxophones and Pete Middleton on trombone.

Roger Bonsall returns on banjo, after his first absence for 15 years, accompanied in the rhythm section by Clarence Nugent from South Wales on drums, and Len Mills on the three-string bass.

December's Old Down Jazz kicks off tonight at 8.30pm at The Old Down Inn, Emborough, near Chilcompton.

Admission is free and a collection is taken.
