Miners and Sutton end winless runs

Radstock Town and Bishop Sutton both claimed their first league win of the season in emphatic style on Saturday.

Having scored only twice and picked up two points in their opening five fixtures, the Miners thrashed Bitton 5-0 to move off the bottom of the Toolstation Premier Division table.

Sutton had lost only one of their opening five fixtures but the other matches were all drawn but they moved into a mid-table position with a 4-1 success at home to Ilfracombe Town.

On Saturday, Radstock host Saltash United in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase (3pm).

The match at Southfield will be covered by Somer Valley FM, with highlights on Tuesday's sports show from 6pm.

Sutton are also in FA Vase in action, with a long trip to St Blazey.

    Tickets for Radstock's game against Saltash cost £5 for Adults, £3 for OAPs and kids under 16 go free. With both Welton Rovers and Paulton Rovers playing away on Saturday, Radstock's game is the only show in town, so why not come on down to Southfields and cheer the Miners on!
