Between now and Christmas Frome's Cheese and Grain presents an eclectic mix of music, sure to fill you with seasonal spirit and get you in the party mood – and no band gets the party going quite like the skankalicious 2-Tone pioneers The Beat who visit tomorrow.

The Beat are known the world over for a string of hit singles, including Mirror in the Bathroom, Too Nice To Talk To, Can't Get Used To Losing You, Hands Off She's Mine and All Out To Get You.

Their songs of peace, love and unity fuse ska, pop, reggae and punk rock and their dynamic live show has garnered them a loyal following at home and abroad.

The Beat formed in Birmingham in 1978, part of the West Midlands ska revival scene that also produced The Specials and The Selecter, whilst London saw the formation of Madness and The Bodysnatchers.

The band released three albums I Just Can't Stop It (1980), Wha'ppen (1981) and Special Beat Service (1982), which contained many tracks that demonstrated their more politicised and socially-conscious leanings.

The 2013 line-up features Ranking Roger and Ranking Junior on vocals, Everett on drums plus Andy Pearson, Michael Billingham, Matt Godwin and Steve Harper on sax, keys and guitars.

Tickets cost £16 in advance.

On Friday, December 13, prepare to boogie as T-Rextasy's I Love to Boogie Tour rolls into town.

T-Rextasy are the only band to have been authorised and endorsed by Marc Bolan's Catalogue Management and are officially recognised as the world's number one group dedicated to the greatest glam rocker of them all, Marc Bolan of T.Rex.

With their uncanny doppelganger lead singer and lead guitarist, Danielz, T-Rextasy perform a powerful and mesmerising presentation of Marc Bolan's rock and pop anthems.

T-Rextasy have now been performing around the world for 20 years, a career that ironically outlives Marc's very own T.Rex.

Tickets cost £15 in advance.

Get set for Sgt. Pepper's Christmas Party on Saturday, December 14. The annual seasonal extravaganza for the world renowned Beatles tribute Sgt Pepper's Only Dart Board Band has is a firm favourite in the Frome festive calendar.

Funny and irreverent, the self styled "Flab Five" play all the great Beatles' danceable and singalong hits, as well as some impressive album tracks from the biggest back catalogue in pop music.

Family tickets are available costing £32.

Gather your bunting and bring plenty of pies – it's The Big Acoustic Plus Christmas Street Party on Friday, December 20.

Prepare to dance your way into the holidays with the Frome Street Bandits, Cabaret Sans Frontières, Doctor Mephisto and a whole host of Christmas crackers.

Admission costs £5.

If you only go to one Christmas party this year you may as well make it the Cheese and Grain's Christmas Boogie Wonderland on Saturday, December 21.

Daddy Cool and Andrew St. John Discotheques will be spinning disco party music from the 1970s and '80s.

The popularity of a similar event held in spring has prompted a return of Daddy Cool to the Cheese and Grain for a Christmas Special.

Tickets cost £8 in advance.
