On Sunday there will be another in the series of conducted walks entitled "Carrying Coals from Radstock", exploring the course of the southern branch of the Somersetshire Coal Canal.
Led by Mike Chapman, a historian who specialises in the history of this canal, these walks are aimed at the general public, who would like to learn more about the S.C.C.
This month's walk covers Wellow to Midford, and starts from the Wellow Village Car Park at 10am. For more information call Mike on 01225 426948.
On Thursday, December 19, the Somersetshire Coal Canal Society will host a meetings at Radstock Working Men's Club, starting at 7.30pm. There will be a talk by Tim Wheeldon entitled "The Beginning of The Beginning of The Restoration of The S.C.C."
Admission is free but donations towards the hire of the room will be welcome.
